It is true that shoujo manga of 1970's is strongly affected by old European culture. Marimite intentionaly tries to revive this nostalgic concept. But I think what the auther tries is not showing European style but revival of 70's culture. Because there are many Japanese element (like ginkos) in this show. err.. I can't explain well...

So they narrow down target to otaku, who watch anime even if it's 1.00 a.m. or 3.00 a.m., and buy DVD even if they've already watched the show. Most anime use the same marketing strategy these days.

The original Maria-sama ga miteru novel is one of the novel series of Cobalt Novels. Covalt Novels is something like "Harlequin Romance for high school girls". Pretty boys, love and stereotypical romance are the keywords of Cobalt. Marimite's uniqueness is the fact that it avoids that mannerism.Anyway, Marimite novel's intended marketing target is late teen girls. But for some reason, many OTAKU = anime-loving college boys are hooked on this novel.You know, when I went to Marimite convention, I was surprised that nine-tenths of participants are male. (^^;;

I believe that when the staff of this anime decided to make Marimite into anime, they seriously deliberated upon "To whom should they set target audience?"They chose OTAKU, because otaku spends much more money than high school girls. But they also desided, "We will never curry otaku's favor like bishoujo anime." They knew otaku were bored with harem anime like Love Hina and lolicon anime like Chobits. Otaku had a thirst for something new. So they made this anime in elegant shoujo style. They think otaku have no immunity to this kind of style, and maybe they are right.

Marimite Manga chose different marketing strategy. The publishing company chose early-teen girls. So, the depth, delicacy, sentiment of the original novel are adventurously arranged into simple, easy-to-follow, funny art and story. I don't like this arrangement, but I admit the manga is fun to read. ^^

Fan girls are not so different from fan boys and the people in this forum. It's interesting how those who actually go to all girls high school comment on the REALITY of all girls high. We find that Marimite is totally fantasy.(^^;

If you want to know about REAL all girls high, try "Joshi Kousei" by Ooshima Towa. It's a hilarious gag manga. The mangaka really knows something with girls high. *yup*

Kaito~~~ when I watched the Detective Conan series, I've always liked Shinichi Kudo since he was the main char but I got interested when eps. 3** came and yup, I liked him for that. Then, when I was in *** Year, someone liked Kaito and for me we can't like the same char so I switched back at Shinichi...It's a long story but I'm sure and I don't lie about liking Kaito. I already knew him since Grade 4...xD

Well, hello there guys! It's been NOT so while since I've last updated by posts and it's all because of school, friends, free time, him, money, and all the pressures and stress that everybody else has. Whew, not to mention our upcoming Xmas Carol Fest...Damn, I'm a soprano..

This day is probably one of my favorites bcoz :

1. It' Teacher's Day in our school and our classes were cut at 12pm
2. Him and I went to Glorietta to buy some stuffs ( not to mention that walking and talking about sense and nonsense )
3. I've tried DRUMMANIA V3! wow....(Puzzle, DragonBlade (Kozo Nakamura) , Ring (Kozo Nakamura ) )
4. We exchanged gifts and letters ( to celebrate Xmas and 'that' earlier.. ) in a park. So solemn haha...

Mine was an Alphonse Elric keychain while his was Edward Elric keychains ( worth Php50 !!!) That was so fun yet sweet, I suppose...It even rained hard..but that was fine...I love him dearly anyway.

Blood+ is going to end soon! I found out that it's aonly a 50-episode anime so I was so dissapointed...and to found out too that Diva will also die..!! no!!! not my favorite psychotic character!!!

there are also a lot of animes now that I've been sticking my eyes too...

1. Loveless - ah! it's really a shounen-ai anime (YAOI) but episodes 8 to 10 are yuri ones! YAY! I love the Zero pair or Kouya Sakagami and Yamato Nakano.

2. Ouran HIgh School Host Club- Ok, all guys from the host club are gorgeous! Tamaki-sama! (rushes off him to unbutton his blue pleaded uniform ) and Haruhi is cute ( though she's a girl..)

well guyz, I really missed you all...and i'm afraid I can't see you for a while... but I advise you all that you could aget a hold of yourself at Fanfiction.net.... I'm going to register as a writer there!XD...just wait until my fic's done....

My days with my neighbor are getting a little bit serious everyday...

Really giving me the chills....

I don't feel like putting this up in the blog but....i can't help myself...

Well, this afternoon, as we went home, I felt something kinda nervous about his reactions and words... I mean, he became serious all of a sudden....and eventually I became scared of him...

As usual when we ride a bus home, he would tell me to go to the farthest seat which I approved of [ because I hate being in contact with people ]. This time, half of the bus was empty...so, i suggested that we will STILL sit to the back because it's really cold there. Then after we got seated, I pulled out my comb and pressed powder..because it's a part of my routine to freshen up in the bus. He said " Ok, make yourself looke cute...". I said, "Whatever...."

He told me afterwards that I really looked cute when i have powder...so, i thought " This guy's so baka.. (stupid)".

then he hugged me... i felt this nervous thingy again...

as he lowered his head, i could feel his breath across my face, my lips....

"You're so cute..."

his hand was pulling my face closer to his. I just stared at him. " What's his problem?" I thought.

"I want to kiss you..."

Eventhough my soul is trapped within a child's body, I'm still the feminine girl whose still sensitive at these things....

at this very moment, im suffering from severe colds.. haaayyzz...

Well, nothing much happen from these dayz....it's been a very busy week for the whole einstein people...we had this collage admission test, followed by a bunch of projects which been a serious pain in the ass...and of course the periodic test...( i had migraines)

o well! since no one seems to be interested to know my life....i feel like im always an escape goat for someone...well....if he likes her then he should tell her...he's not supposed to tell me about it...it really sucks....i think im giving him 3 more chances....

what hurts is....he just likes me because i looked like his crush..and because i looked like his favorite female anime character...what a joke...

never mind about him...what makes me happy now is PARADISE KISS is soon this august on animax...well, im really looking forward to it...
